The Audi Sport GmbH is extending its R8 model series to include a new derivative with rear-wheel drive. The Audi R8 V10 RWS (Combined fuel consumption in l/100 km: 12.6 – 12.4, combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 286 – 283**) comes in a limited series of 999 units with both Coupé and Spyder variants. It will be rear-driven (Rear Wheel Series) and be built exclusively by hand at the Böllinger Höfe R8 factory.“The R8 V10 RWS is made for purists,” said Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Audi Sport GmbH. “A limited-edition special model for customers with an appreciation for essential driving enjoyment, the R8 V10 RWS is an absolutely exclusive offer. With its mid-mounted V10 engine and rear-wheel drive, it successfully brings the driving concept of our R8 LMS racing car to the streets.”

New Audi A8 will be premiered in the movie ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Before the official world premiere, the new Audi A8 appears on the silver screen. The flagship of the premium brand makes a guest appearance in the blockbuster ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ in theatres worldwide in July. Therefore, movie fans will be the first to catch a glance at the luxurious sedan at the film premiere which takes place in Los Angeles on June 28.

Design study and technology demonstrator, electric car and power pack in the guise of a coupé: A versatile concept car makes its world debut in the Chinese metropolis of Shanghai as the Audi e-tron Sportback concept. The brand with the four rings presents the study of a four-door Gran Turismo with a powerful 320 kW electric drive at the Auto Shanghai 2017 this spring. The formal idiom of the coupé with Lux Silver paint finish combines classic Audi elements with an array of trendsetting details: an electrifying architecture, tailored consistently to the technology and the package of the electric drive.

Dynamic, highly efficient and extremely comfortable: Audi presents the Audi Q8 concept at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2017. With this model the premium manufacturer is tapping into a new segment for the full-size class – an elegant alternative to the robust presence of a classic sport utility vehicle. The Q8 concept stands for maximum prestige. It combines the spaciousness typical of an SUV with the emotional lines of a coupe. Propulsion is provided by a powerful, yet highly efficient plug-in hybrid with 330 kW of system output and 700 Nm (516.3 lb-ft) of torque. The concept car is the basis for a production model that Audi will launch on the market in 2018.

The brand with the four rings is celebrating the anniversary of the Audi A3. The successful Audi model debuted 20 years ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Today the premium compact is available in a choice of four body styles, four drive systems and three trim lines.Audi introduced the Audi A3 at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) in 1996. The car was developed from the ground up on the basis of the Golf IV platform, which followed in 1997. From the very first generation, the Audi A3 has boasted innovations and quality features from higher classes, making it the founder of the premium compact class. The A3 initially was available exclusively as a three-door hatchback in three trim lines and with four different gasoline and diesel engines. In September 1998, Audi brought quattro permanent all-wheel drive to the compact segment for the first time in the A3. A five-door variant joined the model series in March 1999.

The new Audi models A5* and Q2* have each been awarded top grades in the Euro NCAP test, confirming their place among the safest vehicles in the competition. This is true for both adult and child safety, for pedestrian protection and for other safety systems.Emergency braking systems were introduced to the evaluation procedure in 2016. The Audi Q2* is equipped as standard with the emergency braking assistant as part of Audi pre sense front. The system examines whether other vehicles or pedestrians are in the path of the vehicle. If a collision is imminent, it warns the driver and if necessary initiates automatic emergency braking.

With a racing version of the new Audi RS 3 that made its world debut at the Paris Motor Show, Audi Sport customer racing will extend its offering in customer sport starting in the 2017 season. The TCR version of the Audi RS 3 sedan puts customer sport at Audi on an even broader base.“Audi has been active in motorsport on the highest level for generations,” says Stephan Winkelmann, Managing Director at Audi Sport with responsibility for the Audi R and RS models which Audi sells under the “Audi Sport” label. “With the Audi R8 LMS, Audi Sport customer racing, in a very short time, managed to build a successful customer sport program alongside the factory commitments in the WEC and the DTM. The Audi R8 LMS has since become the market leader in its segment. We have the same plans for the Audi RS 3 LMS, which offers customers an attractive opportunity to get started in fascinating Audi racing.”

‍The new Audi S5 Sportback* combines emotional design and functionality with the road performance of a sports car. It accomplishes the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 4.7 seconds. Its newly developed, turbocharged V6 engine produces 260 kW (354 hp) and consumes just 7.3 liters of fuel per 100 km (32.2 US mpg). With an unladen weight of 1,660 kilograms (3,659.7 lb), the five-door sports coupé is 85 kilograms (187.4 lb) lighter than its predecessor. The sharper exterior design and the numerous S-specific details in the interior underscore its dynamic character.

Seven years after the birth of the A5 Sportback*, the new version now makes its appearance. The five-door coupé blends elegant, emotional design with high functionality and abundant interior comfort. The family-friendly car is perfectly connected and offers the latest infotainment features. Plus, the second generation comes with a completely reengineered suspension, high-performance drives and innovative driver assistance systems. The S5* takes to the road with a new six-cylinder turbo engine developing a mighty 354 hp and 500 Nm (368.8 lb-ft). In a new departure, the A5 Sportback is also available as a bivalent g-tron*, which customers can run on either Audi e-gas, natural gas or gasoline.

The Audi 2.5 TFSI engine has won the “International Engine of the Year” award. This is the seventh consecutive year that Audi has won the coveted award in the 2-liter to 2.5-liter category.“The five-cylinder engine has one of the longest traditions within the company and we are continually developing it,” says Dr. Stefan Knirsch, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development at AUDI AG. “In the Audi RS Q3 performance*, the 2.5 TFSI puts on an impressive show with its tremendous pulling power, enhanced revving ability and characteristic sound. The new Audi SQ7 TDI* has won the “Autocar Innovation Award 2016” hosted by the British motoring magazine Autocar. This award recognizes its outstanding technical solutions. The expert jury announced the winners yesterday evening in Silverstone, England.“

Beginning in June 2016, compact Audi models will roll off the assembly line with a new filter in the air conditioning system. This not only removes fine particulates and harmful gases from the air, it also neutralizes a majority of all allergens. With the new filter, Audi is setting a new standard worldwide in the premium compact segment. A new air conditioning filter will be used in the Audi A1, A3, Q3 and TT model series beginning in June. The new Audi Q2 will be equipped with the filter at market launch. Customers can also have their cars in the respective model series retrofitted with the new filter as part of their regularly scheduled service intervals.

The “selection 24h”, being built in a limited production run of 24, is based on the Audi R8 Coupé V10 plus*. Its 5.2-liter V10 mid-engine develops 449 kW (610 hp) and accelerates the top model of the Audi R8 car line from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in a mere 3.2 seconds

At Auto China 2016 in Beijing, Audi presents the Audi connected mobility concept, a concept car based on the Audi Q3, the brand’s urban compact SUV. The concept offers sporty and multi-functional mobility for megacities with dense traffic and road restrictions. Tailored to markets with growing urbanization such as China, this lifestyle concept was developed at Audi Research & Development in Beijing and focuses on young, progressive drivers. An electrically powered multifunctional longboard, measuring 1.05 meters in length, is integrated into the rear bumper of the car for convenient storage and removal. To ensure permanent usability, the device is charged automatically while loaded in the car. The board’s premium design includes superior materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum.

Audi scoops two prizes in the “All-wheel Drive Car of 2016” reader survey from car magazine Auto Bild Allrad. The Audi A4 allroad quattro is the winner in the “All-wheel Crossover” category, the Audi A6* won the “All-wheel Car Over 40,000 Euros.” The award ceremony was held Thursday evening in Stuttgart.
